Here at Revolver, we're always on the hunt for new songs to bang our heads to — indeed, it's a big part of our jobs. With that in mind, here are the tracks released this week in cyberpunk, occult-rock, death metal and more that have been on heavy rotation at Revolver HQ. For your listening pleasure, we've also compiled the songs in an ever-evolving Spotify playlist.

Wargasm - "Scratchcard Feeling"
Calling back to acts like the Prodigy and Atari Teenage Riot, Wargasm's latest puts a distinctly post-2010s filter on their genre-munching style of metallic cyberpunk. "Scratchcard Feeling" bops between taunting trap and pulsing industrial-punk, but the real fun arrives when the U.K. duo step on nu-metal landmines and get the mosh pits moving.

Me and That Man - "Under the Spell" (Feat. Mary Goore)
For both Adam "Nergal" Darski and Ghost's Tobias Forge, the playful camp of a good disguise — whether that be makeup or a pseudonym — is central to their identities as performers, so of course we should've expected trickery when the two eventually paired up. Me and That Man's "Under the Spell" features Forge singing under the moniker Mary Goore, but don't worry, the two sound just as devilishly synergistic as you could've imagined on this dusky post-punk rocker.

Genocide Pact - "Deprive/Degrade"
Genocide Pact aren't interested in reinventing the steel so much as they're keen on sharpening it. The D.C. band are letting their Terrorizer influence bleed through on "Deprive/Degrade," a gut-bruising sock of bare-knuckled grind and leather-booted death-metal that's the sonic equivalent of getting jumped in an alleyway behind the venue. It'll give you the righteous ass-kicking your ears desire and you can still walk away with your wallet.

Animals as Leaders - "The Problem of Other Minds"
It's been five years since Animals as Leaders put out an album, but the instrumental prog-metal crew have returned sounding like they never went away. "The Problem of Other Minds," the second taste from their 2022 record, Parrhesia, finds their swirling, kaleidoscopic djent swelling fractal-like into some of their prettiest and most colorful jazz fusion yet.

Puppy - "The Kiss"
Puppy's new joint recalls the hard-hitting warmth of early Smashing Pumpkins with just a touch more Soundgarden twanginess in the guitar leads and a smidge more Chino Moreno in the distorted vocal bridge. Heavy shoegaze is most commonly thought of as dour and emotionally numbing genre, but Puppy are here to remind us how bright and buoyant a thick-ass fuzz lick can sound with a catchy melody.

Trench - "Imminent Power Looming"
Calgary's Trench make music that sounds like if Jesus Piece and Knocked Loose came out of deathcore instead of hardcore. "Imminent Power Looming" is lurching and chuggy in a way that brings to mind 2000s-era Acacia Strain, but their breakdowns hit with the fury and force of a group who dare their audience members to jump off the stage and tangle with the crowd-killers.
