AVENGED SEVENFOLD's M. Shadows picks favorite current hardcore band

Avenged Sevenfold have been operating squarely in the metal world for most of their existence, but that doesn't mean frontman M. Shadows doesn't have an appreciation for hardcore. After all, A7X cut their teeth in the O.C. metallic hardcore scene, playing shows with bands like Eighteen Visions, Shai Hulud and Poison the Well before their music took off and launched them into the metal stratosphere.

To this day, Shadows still has a soft spot for music of the stage-diving variety, and he recently revealed who he considers to be his favorite current hardcore band: Louisville breakdown sluggers Knocked Loose.

A few days ago, Shadows tweeted a link to Knocked Loose's 2021 song, "God Knows," commenting "bruh" alongside a fire emoji. Today (February 13th), Shadows tweeted, "I love metal but hardcore just hits different." When someone in the comments asked him to pick a current favorite hardcore band, the singer had one queued up and ready to go.

"Right now it's Knocked Loose because one of my fave bands is Disembodied," he said, name-checking the massively influential late-Nineties metalcore trailblazers. "This sounds like a modern version of that, in my opinion."
