One of the coolest metal tours of the year has been announced. Today (April 11th), Dethklok — the real-life incarnation of the Metalocalypse cartoon band — and Japanese kawaii-metal titans Babymetal have revealed they're teaming up for a co-headlining trek across North America later this year, with support from guitarist Jason Richardson (Chelsea Grin, Born of Osiris, All Shall Perish).
Playfully dubbed the "Babyklok Tour," this will mark Dethklok's first actual tour in 11 (!) years, and it'll be Babymetal's first North American trek since 2019 — and therefore their first U.S. dates with newly-appointed third member, Momometal.
The tour kicks off August 30th in Houston and travels throughout the U.S. — as well as a couple dates up in Canada — before concluding October 11th in Los Angeles. The news arrives the same day Adult Swim announced that a new Metalocalypse movie, soundtrack and Dethklok album, Dethklok IV — their first since 2012's Dethklok III — will all be arriving later this year.
