Back in 2021, Portland metalcore upstarts Dying Wish released one of our favorite albums of the year, Fragments of a Bitter Memory. Later this fall, they'll issue its much-anticipated follow-up, Symptoms of Survival.
We already heard its vicious first single "Torn From Your Silhouette," and now Dying Wish have dropped another banger off the record called "Watch My Promise Die." With gnarly melodeath riffs, a powerhouse sing-scream delivery from frontperson Emma Boster and a bone-snapping breakdown, the track has everything Dying Wish do best under one roof.
Listen above while you watch its alluring music video via YouTube.
"'Watch My Promise Die' is written about the overwhelming anxiety of pre-destined failure," Boster said in a press release. "When you commit everything you have to one area of your life, the idea of it falling apart looms with such heavy importance.
"The song is written from the perspective of toying with that fear, allowing your weakness to overcome before you lose everything in a means outside of your control."
Symptoms of Survival arrives November 3rd via SharpTone Records and can be pre-ordered here. Check out the gorgeous, Paul Romano-illustrated artwork below.
