Former Fear Factory singer Burton C. Bell has tipped his hat to another industrial-metal band by covering Rammstein's "Du Hast." The new rendition, also featuring Killing Joke drummer Paul Ferguson, will be included on Cleopatra Records' upcoming Rammstein tribute comp, A Tribute To Rammstein, which also features covers by Front Line Assembly, Skold, the 69 Eyes and more.
Bell's cover of Rammstein's classic Sehnsucht track is pretty faithful to the original sound, though with Bell's own vocal flair that fans have come to love through his time in Fear Factory. Blast it above via YouTube.
The "Du Hast" cover is the first piece of new music that Bell has released since his acrimonious departure from Fear Factory in 2020. Since then, the singer has been replaced in his former industrial-metal band by new vocalist Milo Silvestro, who Bell commented on earlier this spring shortly after Silvestro was revealed as Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares' new hire.
"It doesn't affect me at all," Bell said of watching someone else play the songs he wrote during his time Fear Factory. "To be honest, I haven't been this happy in a long time. More power to them, but I'm just moving forward in my own life, my own career, and I'm just trying to make a name for myself."
