Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton's 2019 solo LP, Anesthetic, was a decidedly heavy affair, not as bruising as his main band's music, but still leaning on the headbanging side of the aisle. His new solo offering, the five-song EP Ether — released today, January 17th — takes a much different tact. A primarily acoustic record, it showcases his more mellow and introspective side, as it does for its multiple guest vocalists. Sons of Texas' Mark Morales sings on the emotive lead single "All I Had to Lose," a music video for which premiered this morning and can be viewed above. Former Killswitch Engage/current Light the Torch singer Howard Jones croons on the original tune "Love My Enemy," while Halestorm's Lzzy Hale crushes the soulful Black Crowes cover "She Talks to Angels." Stream both those songs below.
With Ether out, Morton can re-aim his focus on Lamb of God's next album, which is due out later this year and will be the Virginian metal stalwarts' first without drummer and founding member Chris Adler.
