Order Metallica's new album, 72 Seasons, on CD and 2LP vinyl at Revolver's shop.
Metallica and Taylor Swfit have little to nothing in common aside from the fact that they're both wildly popular. However, a dedicated Metallica fan recently won tickets to one of their upcoming shows by performing a hilarious mashup live on the radio — singing Taylor Swift's 2022 song, "Anti-Hero," in the style of 'Tallica frontman James Hetfield.
The metalhead named Tim called into the Jim Kerr Rock & Roll Morning Show on New York's Q104.3, which was holding a contest to see who can do the most entertaining version of a non-Metallica song, sung in the voice of Metallica's singer.
In addition to belting out his raspy, gritty, Hetfield-ian take on the popstar's moody new track, Tim told the hosts that he got the inspiration from his fiancee, who happens to be a diehard Swift fan. Lucky for him, listeners thought his version was the best of the bunch, and he ended up winning two tickets to a Metallica show next August.
Tim's win was also a win for us, because now we get to hear his version of Swift's song whenever we want. Listen above via YouTube.
