Lest we have any doubts, Connecticut-based band Boundaries are proof positive that metallic hardcore is back in a very positive way. Following in the footsteps of bands like Coalesce, Turmoil and Disembodied, the band takes elements of the first wave of the genre, updating it with a brutality and understanding of modern hardcore, carving out their own world. Their latest offering is the title track from their forthcoming My Body in Bloom LP due February 22nd. The video, shot in a retro VHS style with jump-cuts throughout, is meant to give you a taste of the band's live presentation, and the ensuing chaos therein. Check out the song and video for the first time above.
"'My Body in Bloom' is an evaluation of my anxieties surrounding time and entering 'adulthood,'" says singer Matt McDougal. "There are a lot of decisions you only get to make once in life and you never get to live a day over again. MBIB is about being at the end of the 'growing up' and seeing what you did with it while you had it."
