Julie Christmas has announced her first show in six years, at Brooklyn's iconic Saint Vitus Bar on Friday, March 3rd. A little over a month later, she will perform on the main stage at the prestigious Roadburn Festival in the Netherlands, a set that was originally scheduled for 2020 but postponed due to the pandemic.
Christmas first made her name in the mid-2000s with the noise-rock band Made Out of Babies and the post-metal group Battle of Mice before releasing the solo record The Bad Wife in 2010. She's also guested on songs from Mouth of the Architect, Spylacopa and Pigs, and collaborated on an entire album with Cult of Luna, 2016's acclaimed Mariner. Since the announcement of the originally planned 2020 Roadburn show, she's been hinting that new material may be on the way.
Christmas' current backing band includes The Bad Wife collaborators Andrew Schneider and John LaMacchia (Candiria, Spylocopa) alongside Tom Tierney, Spotlights drummer Chris Enriquez and Cult of Luna's Johannes Persson.
