On Saturday, August 12th, Queens of the Stone Age played Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York, supporting their latest album, June's In Times New Roman... Originally designed in the 1920s as the home of the U.S. Open tennis tournament, the venue provided a somewhat unusual forum for Josh Homme and his cohorts — which, on this night, included opening acts Phantogram and the Armed.
QOTSA busted through a 17-song set packed with classic cuts and fan favorites, opening with "No One Knows" and closing with "A Song for the Dead," both off the group's 2002 smash album Songs for the Deaf. In between, they slipped in a few newbies, as well: namely, "Emotion Sickness," "Carnavoyeur" and "Paper Machete."
