Bullet for My Valentine have unveiled a trippy music video for their groove-heavy new single "Over It," taken from the Welsh metallers' upcoming sixth album Gravity. Directed by Stuart T. Birchall of Numinous Pictures, the clip finds the band ripping through the track in a starkly-lit warehouse, with occasional cuts to shots of beautiful women crying black tears and tearing apart their own glittery flesh, revealing the galaxies hiding beneath their skin. In other words, it's a sensual, post-hardcore acid trip.
Gravity, the follow-up to 2015's Venom LP, is slated to drop June 29th via Bullet For My Valentine's new label home Search and Destroy. It's marks their first effort to feature drummer Jason Bowld, formerly of Pitchshifter and Axewound, and ex-Revoker bassist Jamie Mathias, both of whom joined in 2016. The group are currently on a North American tour with Trivium and Toothgrinder ahead of the record; find dates here.
"Over the last 12 months, I've been thinking about the word 'contemporary' a lot," singer/guitarist Matt Tuck told Blabbermouth of the LP earlier this year, "And I feel this is a contemporary record. It's not an old-school, heart-on-your-sleeve influences thing. We've done that so let's move forward and make the band more interesting. We don't want to alienate anyone ... but we don't want to write the same shit anymore. Metalheads will enjoy this. I actually feel the softer electronic parts make the heavy moments even more crushing. It's about engaging the listener and taking them on a journey, messing with their heads a bit."
