Dallas, Texas, quartet Fit for a King have dropped a kinetic new music video for their pummeling, politically charged track "The Price of Agony." In true FFAK fashion, the song embraces the early 2000s metalcore sound — furious verses, clean choruses, undeniable riffs, burly breakdowns — but with the band's own stamp on it. The clip, which can be viewed above, expresses the group's outlook on the current political climate. Live footage of the band throwing down in front of a fill-fledged conflagration is intercut with flashes of politicians and imagery suggesting the conflicting ideologies that have polarized the populace. Vocalist Ryan Kirby sings about society's struggles in the outro: "Holding on to what we know/Too proud to change/Too scared to grow."
"The song is about the political divide not just in America, but around the world," Kirby tells Revolver. "And how this divide has caused us to not just disagree with others, but to despise people with differing views, even though outside of politics, we all have more in common than we allow ourselves to believe."
"The Price of Agony" is the second single off Fit for a King's upcoming, fifth album, Dark Skies, which was recorded by Drew Fulk (Memphis May Fire, Cane Hill, Miss May I). The 10-track LP will be released September 14th via Solid State Records. It can be pre-ordered in various formats here.
