Heavy metal humorists Two Minutes to Late Night tasted the maggots in the mind of the universe for the latest installment of their "bedroom covers" series. Gwarsenio Hall, A.K.A. Jordan Olds, rounded up Vernon Reid of Living Colour, Zeal & Ardor's Manuel Gagneux, Red Fang's Bryan Giles, the Sword's Bryan Richie and Shai Hulud's Moe Watson for a kick-ass metal version of "Hit It and Quit It" from Funkadelic's quintessential 1971 funk masterpiece, Maggot Brain.
Although George Clinton and Co.'s original version of the song is pretty shreddy in its own right, this all-star cast of heavy maestros turn it into a full-on ripping metal jam — replete with face-melting solos, Sabbath-ian chugs and big, bellowing vocals from the venerable Vernon Reid. Plus, the accompanying video is trippy as hell.
