See Myrkur Explain How Nightmares Inspired New Album 'Mareridt'

Danish composer and multi-instrumentalist Amalie Bruun, best known for her one-woman metal project Myrkur, has been tormented by nightmares her whole life, and she channeled those night terrors into her recently released concept album Mareridt. The creation of the record turned out to be a "cathartic experience," she says, and her sleep has improved since. That said, the musician reveals that she has yet to listen back to the album since its recording because of how traumatic the subject matter was for her.
