A member of Sleep Token has spoken! The masked U.K. band — Revolver's Artist of the Year — are notoriously press-shy, so much so that singer-songwriter Vessel hasn't done an interview in over five years.
However, in an unexpected turn of events, the band's drummer, who goes by the pseudonym II, has now done a brief interview with Drumeo where he opened up about his experience in Sleep Token.
It's the first recorded video interview any member of Sleep Token has ever done — albeit with his face covered by his mask (notably his old one, not his recently unveiled new one), and his voice digitally distorted like a protected witness.
During the hour-long video, II bangs through a dozen different drum play-throughs of various Sleep Token songs. And in between the action, he speaks with Drumeo's host about a range of topics.
He discusses his influences, his favorite Sleep Token songs to play live, the evolution of his drumming, how he approaches writing Sleep Token drum parts, his personal drumming heroes and more.
It's an incredibly rare and illuminating glimpse into the mind of a Sleep Token member. Watch above via YouTube.
