Soul Glo are notorious for playing some of the most gleefully unpredictable and uncompromising shows in modern-day hardcore. Frontperson Pierce Jordan is an acutely confrontational and gripping figure when he's holding a microphone, and he didn't tone it down when his band played their biggest show ever earlier this month at Coachella. In fact, he upped the ante.
As videos from the April 14th performance can attest, the hardcore renegade played part of Soul Glo's set in a bath robe before stripping down mid-song and strutting around the stage almost completely naked.
At first glance, the dude appeared to be fully nude up there, but as Jordan revealed in a behind-the-scenes post on Instagram, he was actually wearing a flesh-colored thong that just barely concealed his junk.
Listen frontpeople, there isn't a stronger power move than ripping all your clothes off and making the audience squirm while you continue to play your set as if nothing weird is happening. The shock value never gets old, and it was great to see Soul Glo using the mainstream exposure opportunity of Coachella to maintain the dangerous nature of a proper hardcore show.
