Revolver has teamed with Sum 41 for an exclusive colored vinyl variant of their final album, Heaven :x: Hell. It's limited to 500 copies — order yours.
Earlier this year, Canadian pop-punk heshers Sum 41 announced that they were breaking up after one more album and a proper farewell tour.
What we didn't know is that their final record would actually be a 20-song double album — the first half metal, the second pop-punk.
Cheekily titled Heaven :x: Hell — a clear nod to their heroes in Black Sabbath — Sum 41's ambitious swan song arrives next spring, and today (December 12th), they've shared a riotous preview from its "Hell" side, "Rise Up."
While they're still best known for goofy skate-punk anthems like "In Too Deep" and "Fat Lip," Sum 41 were raised on "heavy metal and mullets," and albums like Does This Look Infected?, Chuck and Screaming Bloody Murder are a lot heavier, darker and shreddier than the band typically get credit for.
"Rise Up" has a fist-pumping pop-punk hook, but there's also a wicked guitar solo and a couple bouncy, scream-laden breakdowns that situate it on the heavier side of Sum 41's spectrum.

"Once I heard the music, I was confident enough to say, 'This is the record I'd like to go out on,'" Whibley said in a press release.
"We've made a double album of pop punk and metal, and it makes sense. It took a long time for us to pave this lane for ourselves, but we did, and it's unique to us."
Heaven :x: Hell is due out March 24th via Rise Records, and it's available for pre-order now in a variety of options.
