Swedish Satanic-rock troupe Ghost have come a long, long way since their cult 2010 debut, Opus Eponymous, to their latest LP, Impera, Revolver's top album of 2022.
One of the many things that have helped buoyed mastermind Tobias Forge and Co. to their current chart-topping, arena-headlining, award-winning success is a host of famous fans, including Dave Grohl, James Hetfield and Duff McKagan. Count among this murderers' row Zachary James.
We asked the Twin Temple guitarist to pick his favorite Ghost song — see his selection below.
"Ritual"
I remember seeing Ghost for the first time in 2011 and was completely blown away by their songwriting and theatrics. Opus Eponymous was in constant rotation after that. A standout song for me was "Ritual." I love the juxtaposition of heavy riffs, occult subject matter and the eerie melodic vocal styling.
Fast-forward to 2022, and Twin Temple was invited to join Ghost on tour. Which was, of course, a nightmare come true. Hearing "Ritual" live again after all these years whilst being on tour with them was a surreal moment. Hail Ghost! Hail Satan!
