YEAR OF THE KNIFE involved in "really bad" car accident, vocalist in critical condition

Popular hardcore band Year of the Knife were involved in a "REALLY bad" car accident yesterday (June 28th) that left vocalist Madi Watkins in critical condition. The three other members of the Delaware quartet sustained broken bones and other trauma, but are currently in stable condition. 

Year of the Knife first tweeted about the incident late last night, clarifying that they're all alive but are currently stranded in Salt Lake City, where they had played with Creeping Death the night before. "We got in a REALLY bad accident. Everyone's alive. We're stuck in SLC." 

In a post on his own Twitter account a couple hours later, guitarist Brandon Watkins conveyed the severity of the situation. "We're all alive but things aren't good. Please wish Madi well. She needs everything everyone's got right now. Also if you usually talk to Madi feel free to reach out to me instead I'll talk to you and give you updates. Thanks."

Today, as the PRP reports, Brandon's father shared an update on his personal Facebook page detailing some of the injuries the band sustained, and mentioning that Madi is currently in "critical condition with major trauma." 

"Family and friends," he wrote, "Our son (Brandon), our daughter in law (Madi) and their two 'Year of the Knife' bandmates, Andy and Aaron, were touring out west and were involved in a terrible accident after a show in Salt Lake City, UT. It's been a heart-wrenching time for all families involved.

"Brandon was concussed, but is miraculously OK. Aaron and Andy both sustained broken legs and other trauma...but are stable now and recovering. Madi is in critical condition with major trauma. Please keep her in your prayers."
