Since their formation in 2013, Massachusetts' Fuming Mouth have cemented their place as one of America's finest homegrown death-metal groups, but now the band's frontman and founder, Mark Whelan, is facing the biggest challenge of his life. The vocalist has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), an aggressive form of cancer, and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Since he's on state health care, and much of his treatment, which will require a bone marrow transplant, will not be covered by insurance, a GoFundMe fundraiser has been started by his partner, Selena Gavin, to help raise money to cover the costs. If you can, please donate here, and if you're able, consider joining the bone marrow donor registry.
Fuming Mouth's most recent release is the 2021 two-song single, "They Take What They Please"/"Devolve," which was recorded exclusively for the compilation, America's Hardcore Volume 5.
